Princess of Tamaran, Koriand'r
It is strange that a human would want to know more about me. Your kind does not usually show me this form of respect. My name is Koriand'r and I am the Princess of Tamaran. I had to be sent away for the purpose of promulgating peace. This is a very interesting planet, but it is true that humans have not been the most accepting of me. Perhaps you can change their minds for me.

First night at the academy.

"I’ll be alright, just as long as they pay." Carol leans back and searches her memory for what the alien races looked like. "One side was bluish and the other red. Sorry I can’t give you a better description, I wasn’t really close enough to see them, circumstances and everything." She absent-mindlessly tucks a stray hair behind her ear, and smiles a devilish smile, "So, Kori, what brings you to this planet?"

image

"Revenge.." her voice trailed off, her face expressionless again.  "I can understand your motivation for that.  I apologize that I do not recognize any of those descriptions.  My story is a long and.." Kori hesitated.  "It is a very.. boring story."

She takes the gem in her hands, and bluntly states back, “It broke through the windshield of my car, while I watched my father and his workers get slaughtered by two fighting alien armies.”

image

She glances up at Kori with a plain expression, “No offense.” She glances back down at the gem and smiles, “A Star Sapphire, huh? Well until I find out more about it, it will at least make a lovely accessory.”

image

"That is a horrible thing to be forced to witness; I had something similar happen as a child."  Her smile dwindled as she understood the brevity of the situation.  "Did you catch a glimpse of these ‘aliens’?"  She put a tone on the word aliens, thinking it is an overly human term for anything that’s not like them.  "Perhaps knowing what race they are could provide me some insight into that gem."

First night at the academy.

withvioletlight:

"Actually there is something you could help me with." Carol would then reach up to the small back looped around her arm, she’d reach in to pull out a brightly colored pink gem. "Since you’re alien to some extent, could you tell me what this is?"

image

She leaned in to take a look and her expression was blank.  “Let me see.”  She held her hand out and took the stone, holding it up at different angles in the low-light.  “I am not certain.  It looks similar to the description of a star sapphire that I saw in a book once.  However, it is not something that we know much about on Tamaran.  It is a beautiful gem though.  How did you come to possess it?”  She hands the gem back to Carol as she asks her final question, with a modest smile.

withvioletlight:

"So, you’re an alien?" Carol would grimace slightly, but keep her polite composure. “Sadly, I’m not very sure why I am here. Lex Luthor recruited me and placed me in the Powers Program neither though I lack superhuman abilities. I plan on leaving as soon as I’m old enough to run my father’s company.” That is until I get revenge.

image

"Yes, that would be accurate, on this planet I am called an alien."  It was a similar reponse to the many others that she had gotten, but she didn’t let it phase her.  "That would be unfortunate.  I am enrolled in the Powers Program as well, so perhaps I can assist you in seeking your purpose at this school.  It is always interesting what we might ascertain about ourselves when we delve deep enough.  You may find you like it here."

First night at the academy.

withvioletlight:

As it is with you, Kori. Now, why don’t you tell me about yourself?

image

I fear there is not much to say; I have not been on this planet for very long.  I came from Tamaran and my only friend Jason found this Academy, so that I might find a place where I am not seen as strange.  And what brings you to the school, Carol?

First night at the academy.

withvioletlight:

Your assumption is correct, I am new.

My name’s Carol, and you are?

I am called Kori, it is a pleasure to make your acquaintance, Carol.

First night at the academy.

withvioletlight:

Gotta say, this place sure is creepy at night.

image

I think it is a most interesting place, both during the day and the night.  The architecture is astounding.  If you are not used to it, do I assume correctly that you are new?

rossiewilson:

Yes, it would be shocking. Well that’s good, that Jason was a loyal friend to you after all these years. image

The pain is indescribable… when I was a beginner at combat. I could imagine if you learned combat the pain wouldn’t effect you badly because you are from a different planet. Thank you Koriand’r.

You are most welcome.  You may call me Kori, if you like, Rose.  Jason says it is more comfortable to say.  I experienced my fair share of pain in my training as well, but I admit it was probably nothing compared to the obstacles that you had to overcome.  However, that speaks volumes to your character, that you overcame them anyway in spite of the pain.

Not at all! I’m just glad that aliens aren’t green monsters with huge eyes or have something living inside them that’s like their tongue. Hopefully all aliens are as nice as you!

image

Yay! Oh my gosh, this s awesome! I’ve never had a friend from another planet before!

Well, there are some aliens that are similar to that description.  There are quite a few disgusting and mean races in this galaxy.  However, I am proud to say that Tamaraneans are not one of them.

Your welcome. Well that’s nice. That’s upsetting that he was the only one who accepted you. But then again, he was loyal enough to still be your friend after everything. image

I’m an expert in Hand-to-hand combat and Martial Arts and anything of that sorts. It’s not as hard to control as powers but still, it leaves you in pain after all the training.

I cannot fault them too much, the human race and its planet have been mostly untouched by alien species, unlike my planet.  It would be rather shocking to them, I believe.  Still, Jason has been a genuinely friendly and loyal person and has made my stay on Earth more pleasant.

I received a minimal amount of hand-to-hand and swordsmanship training as a girl on Tamaran, so I can only imagine the aches that would result from training on the level of an expert.  I would also venture so far as to say they are equally different to control.  Both are extensions of the body, as long as the mind is open to accepting one’s powers.  You should think more highly of your abilities, I think you have more than earned your praise as an expert.
